He Giveth More Grace

The Lord has had the phrases from this song going through my mind since the evening of July 30th, when our youngest son, Jonathan, 21 yo, fell off an ATV when he was coming out from where he was working. He impacted his head, was unconscious, and had road rash from the waist up.

We see the Lord's orchestration of all the details. A couple from our church was right behind the guys on the four-wheeler. They went to a phone to call the ambulance, blocked the road to keep traffic from coming around the road. They called our family as soon as they reached cell service. By the time we reached the hospital there were 15 people from our church in the waiting room and our pastor was in ER with Jonathan.

The first CATs and x-rays showed no damage. When we prepared to leave the local hospital, he started to vomit-from the high-grade concussion, there were spots of blood in the vomit. He was kept over-night. I stayed with him at the hospital. He vomited twice during the night. In the morning his head was hurting more, especially in the front. He still had no hearing in the right ear. The doctor ordered more CATs. The new CATs showed bleeding in the front left of the brain. The doctor suspected a basal fracture behind the right ear. By this time there was no movement of the right ear drum. He had our son transfered to a regional medical center in Idaho Falls to be seen by a neurosurgeon.

When Jonathan was admitted to EIRMC, the new hospital, they said there would be new CATs in the morning and even if they were better, he would probably be kept 1-2 days more (Saturday-Sunday). He was still throwing up some. I spent Thursday night with my dil's grandparents who live in Idaho Falls.

Friday, they did the new CATs about noon. At 2 the nurse came in and said we could go home. No work, sports, activities that could start up or make the bleeding worse. He vomited again when he was dressing to leave.

He is still sleeping lots! And very heavily. He has not vomited since arriving at home. We return for new CATs on the 13th and to see the neurosurgeon. Please pray that the bleeding completely resolves and hearing returns.
