Contrary Weather
"Sprinter" has been hanging on for an extra long season this year. Despite having more mud now than during our normal "Mud Season" of March and April, I have persevered in getting the cool crops into the garden. First the cabbage and peas went in, then beets, potatoes, onion, carrots, lettuces, spinach, horseradish, and broccoli. It took the extra help of Mr. Wonderful and two of our sons rototilling, and breaking up "virgin" ground with pick axes for two nights to help me get this far. I would really like to finish weeding the raspberries and plant the rest of the pea seed before I leave early tomorrow to visit our son and meet the lovely young woman he is courting in Texas. As playing in the garden is very weather dependent and I hear another thunderstorm heading our way…I'll just have to trust God to allow it to happen at the best time. Maybe I should go make some muffins for an early breakfast tomorrow.
