Passionate Housewives Desperate for God

Chapter 12: Aspiring to Great Heights

Last fall I taught a Grain and Yeast Bread-making class at our church. In the class were many young wives and a few older wives. They were overwhelmed with the information I shared. It was necessary for me to remind them that it took me over 30 years to learn this information. I encouraged them to start by making the decision to move in the direction of healthier eating. To make healthier choices like the dark green lettuce has more nutrition than the bleached lettuce, to read labels to identify hidden ingredients, to choose whole grain breads, and to buy chemical-free rice, grains, and flours.

The same is true of becoming a keeper at home. Choose an area or two you know your husband would like to see improved and work on it. Some men are content with hot dogs for dinner but don’t like to trip over clutter coming in the door, others want a real meal and don’t care if their wife ever wears make-up. Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither is your home. It is the daily decisions that bear fruit. Those tiny choices that lead to success.
