Chapter 11: So Show Me What a Keeper at Home Really Looks Like!
When I was in college and about to be married there were probably a dozen young women, at the church my family attended, getting married that spring and summer. The older wives and mothers in the church organized a series of classes dealing with all the areas of keeping a happy husband and home.
My mom was selected to teach on food budgeting and nutrition. She had handouts with everything from charts on how to figure cost per servings on cuts of meats to recipes for making your own mixes. Mom could feed a troop on just about nothing. She also could pull together a meal from what appeared to be an empty kitchen. Her recipes were always in demand after a potluck.
Other women taught in the area of their expertise. These older women were passing on their wisdom and knowledge to help these younger women be successful in keeping their homes.
