Recent Reads, part 2

After reading the two biographies on Isobel Kuhn, I read a biography on Eric Liddel. He died in a Japanese prison camp in China during World War II. He had been serving as a missionary in China for several years. His wife and daughters left China as things became more dangerous because she was expecting another child. Eric never saw his youngest daughter.

Why do we have such an easy life? Didn't God put us on earth for the same reason as Isobel and Eric? We are here to bring glory and honor to God. I think we in America with our easy, prosperous, flabby lifestyle don't even begin to bring the glory and honor to God we could and should. Are we, am I, willing to go the distance, make do, live with less for the glory and honor of God? I don't think I can even comprehend what daily life is like for Christians now living in China.
