This week the only work done in the garden was to pull-dig the onions. They were all Walla Walla. With over 50 onions now curing in the garage I shouldn’t need to buy onions for a while.
Inside the house I made peach-pear and pear-apple leather from pears a friend gave me. A big batch of Italian Sauce from tomatoes the same friend left for me. Also, from 3 bushels of MacIntosh apples I canned 14 quarts of apple pie filling, 33 quarts of applesauce, and froze 6 quarts of apples diced, spiced, and sugared.
