Christmas Goodies
Mmmm it's time to pull out those once a year recipes. Top of our list is my grandmother's fudge recipe. A recipe I posted last December. Go here for the origional Fudge recipe: http://mungermom.blogspot.com/2007/12/christmas-fudge.html
When the fudge is at this stage-a bowl left to clean, I never have a lack of volunteers. It is yummy to use popcorn to clean the bowl.
Last Saturday a couple of young wives were over and we made fudge and caramels. We did a variation on the standard fudge recipe, substituting mint chocolate chips for the semi-sweet. Mr. Wonderful says it is good. But it could use alittle more mint flavoring. Maybe I'll try some liquid mint flavoring for some of the vanilla next time.
I also shared the following Chocolate Chip Butter Cookie recipe with the gals.
Chocolate Chip Butter Cookies
1 pound butter
powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
< 4 1/2 cups flour
1-12 oz. package of semi-sweet chocolate pieces
Cream butter and 2 cups of powdered sugar. Add salt, vanilla, and flour. Mix. Stir in choclate pieces.
Roll into 1 inch balls. Flatten on cookie sheet with fork. Bake at 350° F. for 15 minutes. Sprinkle with additional powdered sugar while hot.
