Christmas Goodies-Carmel Corn

This recipe is from my mom. It is so easy.

Pop popcorn. Place 6 qts. Popped corn in a large bowl. Add 1 cup nuts if desired.

1 cup butter-melt in large heavy kettle
Add: 2 cups brown sugar and 1/2 cup corn syrup. Bring to boil, stirring constantly. Boil 5 minutes without stirring.

Remove from heat and stir in:
1/2 tsp. Baking soda
1 tsp. Vanilla

Pour over popped corn. Mix well. Spread in pans.

Bake 1 hour at 250°. Stir every 15 minutes. Cool, then break apart.
