Often we who are already wives forget how much our husbands have entrusted to us. We get busy with everyday life, just getting the next thing done and lose perspective.
God commands a man to rejoice with the wife of his youth. Are we rejoicing in all the good that comes his way? As a wife we can help him celebrate and rejoice over the small and large victories and successes in his life. Make a big deal of his accomplishments, of his finishing a project, of his great ideas.
Men have incredible pressures and stress on them daily which affects their health; yet they do not like to take time to look after their health. As a wife we can do more than provide healthy foods. We can provide a home and family environment that allows relaxation and a release of stress from outside pressures. A haven to help fortify him when he is out in the battles of life.
Are the sounds of your home restful? That doesn't mean silent, it means contented, happy, busy with life sounds. Not angry, impatient, frustrated-no time for others sounds. Is your home arranged in such a way that your husband can relax? A home doesn't have to be immaculate, but the chair needs to be clean enough to sit and relax in. What does your husband do to relax? Provide space and time for him to relax and unwind from his busy day. Whether it is a lawn chair on the back patio with a glass of ice tea or his slippers at the front door welcoming him home, take the time to help him know you are here to welcome him home and help him relax.
