Self-watering Planter

Mr. Wonderful helped me build this self-watering container the other day.

Because he is still one-armed. (The other in a sling.)
I had the dubious privilege of cutting the plastic supports
and trimming the lid to form the floor for the planting soil.

He took care of drilling the holes in two of the supports and caulking.
The supports with holes are filled with potting soil and are below holes in the floor holding the potting soil above the water reservoir.
The hole in the side allows me to fill the bottom with water.
This creates a self-watering planter.

There are now 4 happy Amish Paste Heirloom tomatoes growing in the planter.
When they get a bit larger I will move at least two of them into the garden next month.
