Sock Goal

One of my goals for this year is to learn to make socks. Knitted and crocheted.

I bought a small skein of cheap sport weight yarn for the first pairs.

Both patterns came off internet sites.

First I needed to learn to knit using dpns–that is those intimidating double-pointed needles. Which really are not that hard when you do it!

Knitted socks in a women's medium size. Knitted from top to toe.

With the left-overs I crocheted a pair of baby socks. The heel was much more challenging on these. These were from the toe up.

Currently I am working on a pair with finer dpns and yarn.
