Tea Time with Hungry Hunters

Last week-end the guys went out hunting with a gloomy, threatening sky. Dear son #3 shot a bull elk just about an hour before sunset. Which meant they must needs go back in the next afternoon to retrieve said elk with horses.

The next day was cool and rainy. So they put on their rain gear, loaded up the horses, set out to bring home the elk about 1:30 p.m.

By 7:30 p.m. they were in the driveway unloading horses. All were cold, hungry, thirsty, and drenched.

We put on the tea kettles and washed up some apples for everyone to munch.

As soon as they could they headed downstairs by the wood stove where it was warm and started sipping tea and hot chocolate.

Everyone filled up on a double batch of scones, cheese, ham, and apples.

Soon oldest granddaughter was asking Mr. B to go with her to get a game or puzzle from the drawers in the guest bedroom. He obliged her.

But they didn't come back with a game or a puzzle…

Yes, she was trying to teach Mr. B to play Tea Party–well our menu was very Tea Partyish!
