Bible Bee Kick-Off! Meeting



Last Friday was our Kick-Off! Meeting, most of our contestants were able to attend. We had fun practicing Week One verses with several games.


Two friends came and helped. The Moms also pitched in and helped with some of the games.

We also went through the Family Box to explain the materials. And we challenged the kids to a contest within our Local Bible Bee of saying their verse(s) when learned to a Verifier. They were given a Verse List Chart on color coordinated paper with Verifier Instrucitons. Here are our Verifier Instructions:



Verifier Instructions

Qualifications:
            Adult, Non-family–not even Grandma
            Examples of possibilities would be a Pastor, Sunday School Teacher, mentor, neighbor or an adult helping at Bible Bee practices.

  1. Recitation must follow official Bible Bee version of verse or passage.
–Follow recitation using the Bible Bee Contestant’s Memory Cards or Bible Bee branded Bible.

  1. Reference needs to be recited before and after the verse or passage.
Example:
Ephesians 3:17-20

That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, unto him be the glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

Ephesians 3:17-20


  1. Recitation of verse or passage is to be word perfect. Contestant may self-correct, by starting again.
To the Contestant: You are allowed a limited amount of prompts in the competition, but they count against your possible points.
            Let’s go for excellence now! It will make doing your best on Contest day easier.

        4.   Sign or initial the verse box for verse(s) recited perfectly.
