Frosted Corn

After the early frosts we had in August, I thought I might not get any corn. Most of the stalks were dry and brown on the top half, about ear level and up.

Just within the last week the kernels started to turn yellow. Then Yesterday there was another very heavy frost and it looked like it was the end of the corn stalks. The lower leaves were well frosted and frozen. I walked through the corn and took all the ears that looked plump and were leaning out. Four fruit boxes full! I didn't take time to check each ear but the ones we had last night for dinner were good.
